The Cameron Peak fire in Colorado has grown in size and is now the largest wildfire in Colorado's history.
It surpassed the Pine Gulch Fire.
The wildfire is located in the Rocky Mountains west of Fort Collins in Larimer County.
The fire started on August 13, near Chambers Lake, and the cause is still unknown.
In mid-October, the fire grew rapidly due to high winds and continued dry conditions. From late October 13 through early October 14, the fire grew by more than 30,000 acres.
On October 16, another high wind event caused "extreme fire activity", resulting in firefighting crews being pulled back and additional evacuations being ordered.
