Evacuation zones continue to grow due to the wildfire in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.

Approximately 40 percent of residents in Shelburne County have been evacuated, conditions are smoky and visibility is poor in many places.

The RCMP were asking people to avoid travelling into the Shelburne and Barrington areas, unless necessary.

Contact the SPCA if you’ve had to leave a pet behind. In Shelburne County, please call 902-307-0475. In the Tantallon area, call 902-835-4798.

In the Tantallon area, evacuation orders have been lifted for some streets.

The RCMP continues to patrol the Tantallon area and Shelburne County. Patrols are happening in and around evacuation zones.
