The temperatures in India soared to 50 degrees Celsius, keeping residents inside and drinking plenty of water.

This is typically the warmest time of year but even this heat is unusual. Many heat records are being broken.

It is so warm that authorities were hosing down the streets with water.

Over the last couple of days, the 15 hottest places on Earth were in India and Pakistan.

Almost the whole country is under a heat warning.
