There was a 6.0 magnitude earthquake in the Western Indian-Antarctic Ridge area on Wednesday.


It was detected at 11:28 pm on August 21, 2019, near the epicenter.


There was no tsunami threat. The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km.


The nearest populated place was 987.1 km to the southwest, Geeveston, Australia.
