6.8 Earthquake Near the coast of Chile

There was a 6.8 magnitude earthquake 94.9 km southwest of San Antonio, Chile on Thursday afternoon.

It was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Chile, located on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" and is prone to earthquakes.

Local authorities said they were monitoring the situation and so far there were no reports of damage.

The Navy also said there was no tsunami risk.
