Another System Heading Toward Atlantic Canada

A slow-moving area of low pressure will bring soaking rain, snow, and strong winds to Atlantic Canada.

Precipitation will begin on Thursday and continue through Sunday.

Rain will begin on Thursday across Nova Scotia before changing to snow. Rainfall amounts will range from 20 to 40 mm followed by 5 to 10 cm of snow.

In eastern New Brunswick snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm. Western New Brunswick will escape the worst of the system.

Some scattered flurries or showers are expected across Prince Edward Island.

The low will spread snow across Newfoundland starting on Friday night. On the Avalon and in parts of central Newfoundland the snow will change to rain. Snowfall amounts may be significant across western Newfoundland.

Strong winds are also expected.
