Arches Collapse in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia's arches near Paddy's Island have collapsed.

Paddy's Island, located in Minas Basin in western Nova Scotia, is home to very strong tides.

The strong tides may have contributed to the collapse.

Burntcoat Head, located on the "Noel Shore" along the south side of the Minas Basin, is the location of the highest tidal range ever recorded, exceeding 16-metre (during a spring tide only) and has one of the highest average tidal ranges every day.
