Areas in the Arctic Circle Get Close to 10 Degrees


While most of Canada is seeing temperatures dip to near freezing, the Arctic Circle is seeing above-average temperatures topping out around 10 degrees.


On Tuesday, Aklavik a town located in the Inuvik Region of the Northwest Territories almost hit 10 degrees.


Inuvik hit 5.7°C on Tuesday and got up to 3.9°C on Wednesday.


The average high for Inuvik this time of year is -12.4°C.


Over the next week at least, temperatures will be back to reality.
