The bone-chilling weather is expected to continue across northern Saskatchewan and northern Alberta over the next week or so.

Over the next several days wind chill values may drop to near minus 50.

Temperatures this low are exceptionally dangerous. Frostbite can develop within minutes.

There is also a risk of hypothermia or dangerous overcooling of the body.

Also, make sure pets are not left outside.
