COVID-19 And Your Mental Health
There is an overlooked medical problem with the COVID-19 virus and that's mental health.
With all the news circulating about the virus, it's difficult to scroll through your phone without seeing information about COVID-19.
While it is normal to feel anxious during these unprecedented times, there are some steps that you can take to safeguard your mental health.
Avoid information overload
Limit the amount of information you read about COVID-19, and more importantly, make sure that the information comes from a reliable source.
Keep in touch
Stay in touch with family and friends, virtually. Texting, calling, video messaging are all great ways to stay in touch.
Get enough sleep
Make sleep a priority. You might be off work or working from home, but you should still set a bedtime.
Eat healthy foods
Use Canada's Food Guide to help you make healthy food choices.
Relax
Engage in activities you enjoy. Take some "me time" to unwind.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis call Crisis Services Canada 1 833 456-4566 or if you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.
