Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service

The building that houses Croatia’s Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DMHZ) has been damaged by the earthquake that struck the area on Sunday.

According to officials, the building in Zagreb is no longer suitable for people to work.

At this time, employees are working from home so that information about dangerous weather and hydrological phenomena is not compromised.

DHMZ was founded in 1947 and since then it is located on Grič 3 in Upper Town, old part of Zagreb.

Since 1992, Croatia has been a member of the World Meteorological Organization, United Nations' agency specialized in weather, climate and water.
