Earthquake in the Southern Atlantic Ocean

There has been a strong earthquake at the bottom of the world in the South Sandwich Islands region.

Shortly before 5:00 am local time this morning there was a 6.1 magnitude earthquake 2507.9 km east of Tolhuin, Argentina at a depth of 91 kilometres.

Since the earthquake was not close to any populated areas there was no damage or injuries.

The earthquake was also no tsunami threat.
