El Niño Advisory remains in effect

As we head closer to winter an El Niño Advisory remains in effect. The El Niño is expected to continue through the spring.

Over the past month, temperatures continue to be above average across the equatorial Pacific Ocean.

Around the international date line, rainfall was enhanced while areas around Indonesia experienced less rainfall.

Typically when an El Niño is present, western and central areas of Canada see warmer than average winters and springs.
