Extreme Heat in the U.S. Northeast

A spell of hot weather is engulfing the northeastern United States.


Some areas will see their hottest weather so far this summer this weekend.


Saturday High's

  • Boston 35°C

  • New York City 37°C

  • Washington DC 39°C

  • Harrisburg 35°C


The hot temperatures have already arrived. Saturday and Sunday will be the hottest of the days.


Philadelphia and New York City declared emergencies due to the heat.


The most common signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion include:

  • Confusion.

  • Dark-colored urine (a sign of dehydration)

  • Dizziness.

  • Fainting.

  • Fatigue.

  • Headache.

  • Muscle or abdominal cramps.

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
