Five People Injured After Cruise Ship Rams Into Dock

Five people were injured when a out-of-control cruise ship rammed into a dock and a small river boat in Venice, Italy on Sunday.

The MSC Opera cruise ship collided with a river cruise ship, the River Countess, and the quayside at Venice.

The crash occurred after the ship suffered a mechanical problem.

Two tugs tried to assist but a tow cable broke after the collision with the River Countess, according to the towboat association in Venice.

The incident has led to renewed demands to ban large cruise ships from the Giudecca Canal.
