Frosty Temperatures Break Records in Alberta and Manitoba


Several locations in both Alberta and Manitoba set new minimum temperature records.


On Tuesday six locations in Alberta and four areas of Manitoba broke records. The locations were as follows:


Breton Area

New record of -10.7

Old record of -6.0 set in 1996

Records in this area have been kept since 1939


Edmonton int'l Aprt

New record of -15.4

Old record of -11.7 set in 1982

Records in this area have been kept since 1959


Highvale Area

New record of -12.0

Old record of -7.5 set in 2004

Records in this area have been kept since 1977


Red Earth Creek Area

New record of -14.4

Old record of -10.1 set in 1996

Records in this area have been kept since 1994


Stony Plain Area

New record of -11.2

Old record of -8.2 set in 2004
