Heavy rain and strong winds expected across the Maritimes

Monday into Tuesday heavy rain and strong winds are expected across the Maritimes.

Across Nova Scotia and most of New Brunswick rainfall amounts of 40 to 70 mm is expected. Northern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island will see 20 to 40 mm of rain.

Monday evening the strongest winds will occur across southern Nova Scotia and along the Fundy shores of New Brunswick. Gusts from 70 to 110 km/h are expected.

Large waves and pounding surf will produce higher than normal water levels along the Atlantic coast near high tide Monday night and again near noon on Tuesday.
