Heavy Rain in Kenya Kills 4, Landslides Bury 4 Others

Writer: Kyle Sooley-BrookingsKyle Sooley-Brookings

Heavy rains in Kenya have caused several landslides in the western half of the country.

The heavy rain was responsible for at least four deaths when they were swept away by floodwaters.

Landslides also buried a family of four.

The Kenya Meteorological Department warned people in landslide-prone areas to be on high alert. The heavy rains and moderate to strong winds may result in storm surges along the coast.

The Kenya Red Cross is assisting.
