Heavy Rain in Peru Caused Bridge Collapse

Heavy rain in Peru has caused a bridge to collapse in the department of La Libertad.

Heavy rain caused part of a cliff to fall on top of a bridge.

In the northern half of the country, heavy rain was falling on Thursday, causing commuting problems.

Several roads were also damaged and potato and corn crops in Huancapi and Huayao were also damaged.

Rain is expected in the area over the next several days.

December through March is typically the wettest time of the year.
