Heavy Snow and Strong Wind Expected for Eastern Newfoundland #nlwx

Writer: Kyle Sooley-BrookingsKyle Sooley-Brookings

A strong area of low pressure will send some stormy weather into Nova Scotia and parts of Newfoundland.

Sunday into Sunday night just 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected over Nova Scotia. There will also be some strong winds causing whiteouts at times.

Newfoundland will get hit a lot harder beginning on Sunday afternoon. For the Avalon, Burin, and most of Central Newfoundland, snow is expected.

The heaviest snow will fall over the Avalon Peninsula and Burin Peninsula. 20 to 30 cm snow is expected in those areas.

For Central sections, 5 to 15 cm is expected.

Winds may gust to 80 km/h in some areas on the Avalon.
