Hot Weather Expected in Nunavut



It is expected to become exceptionally warm in the Kivalliq region of Nunavut over the next couple of days. Temperatures are expected to soar into the high twenties across the region.


Warm air over western Canada will work its way eastward today and remain in the area until at least Wednesday. Temperatures over a number of communities are expected to be near or surpass record values.


By the time we get to Wednesday, a cold front will bring temperatures down to more seasonal values.


Below is a list of the current record day time high temperatures for communities in the Kivalliq and the dates these records were set.
