Landslides Kill 11 in Indonesia


Eleven people are dead and eighteen others are injured following multiple landslides in Indonesia on Saturday. Some of the victims were the rescuers.


Heavy rain caused landslides that buried homes in the West Java region.


On Sunday rain and thunderstorms hampered rescue efforts.


Seasonal rains have caused many landslides in recent days.


Generally speaking, there is a dry season (June to October), influenced by the Australian continental air masses, and a rainy season (November to March) that is caused by Asia and Pacific Ocean air masses.
