Man Dies After Being Struck by Lightning in Kansas

A man from Kansas was struck by lightning on Saturday as he was about to cross the finish line of FlatRock 50K race in Elk City State Park in Independence.

Thirty-three-year old Thomas Stanley was struck.

Attendees administered CPR to no avail.

He leaves behind his wife Ashley and three young children.

The day had started off nice before storms moved through.
