Nepal Closes Mount Everest Due to COVID-19 Fears
To help stop the spread of COVID-19, Nepal has closed mountains including Mount Everest to climbers.
A government minister announced on Friday.
Such a move will cost the tourism industry in the country. The tourism industry related to the mountains equates to almost $4.5 million per year.
There are 132 758 confirmed cases of COVID-19 around the world, in Nepal, there is only 1 reported case.
