No End in Sight for Ontario Heat #ONwx

Oppressive heat is continuing across northern Ontario.

There is the possibility that the heat may linger through the next ten days. however, temperatures will fall somewhat and briefly as a cold front swings through on Thursday.

Most areas will continue to see daytime high temperatures ranging from 29 to 35 degrees. Overnight lows will range from 16 to 20 degrees.

When you factor in the humidex values it will feel like the high thirties.

There continues to be a risk of thunderstorms. Some of which may become severe.

It is important to stay safe during such extreme temperatures. Avoid working or exercising intensely if it is very hot or humid outside, and head for cooler conditions if your body becomes overheated.

Drink plenty of liquids and take frequent rest breaks. Be sure to maintain salt levels in your body and avoid high-protein foods.

Also, ensure to protect pets from the heat and give them plenty of water to drink.

Watch for signs of serious medical conditions, such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
