No Tsunami Warning Following Japan Earthquake


On Thursday there was a magnitude 6.1 earthquake 141.1 km east-northeast of Hachinohe, Japan.


The earthquake happened at 9:46 am local time at a depth of 17 km.


No tsunami warning was issued.


There have been no reports so far of major damage or injuries as a result of the offshore quake.


There have been no reports of any abnormalities at any nuclear power stations in the affected regions.
