On Wednesday, heavy rains caused flooding in KwaZulu-Natal province on the eastern coast of South Africa.

The flooding delayed rescue efforts at first.

The eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality was heavily damaged. Power was knocked out for several residents. Authorities were working to restore electricity to the area.
