People trapped after mudslide in BC


A mudslide has occurred on Highway 7 near Agassiz, British Columbia.


At this time ten people are believed to be trapped. Some of the people are trapped inside their cars under the debris. There were some calls made to 911.


Crews responded to the area on Sunday evening.


The area has recently experienced heavy rain. A rainfall warning remains in effect for the area with another 30 to 40 mm expected today.


There are currently several weather alerts in effect across British Columbia for heavy rain, heavy snow, and strong winds as the latest weather system moves through.
