Quiet weekend for most of Canada, 150+ mm of rain possible in BC

It is a long weekend for many Canadians. Today is Good Friday, Sunday is Easter Sunday, and many stores and businesses are also closed on Easter Monday.

It will be a fairly quiet weekend across most of the country. There is little weather to speak of from Newfoundland to Alberta. For most areas, temperatures will also moderate over the course of the weekend.

It will be a different story in British Columbia where a moderate atmospheric river will impact the coast this weekend.

Some coastal areas could see over 150 mm of rain. On Saturday winds will pick up along the west coast Saturday. Rain will intensify on Saturday and Sunday, especially on Vancouver Island.

Over higher elevations of the north BC coastal mountains, there will be snow into Monday.
