Snow and Blowing Snow Heading to Ontario & Quebec #ONstorm #QCstorm
Ontario and Quebec are also getting a dose of winter weather.
Over the course of today, across northwestern sections of Ontario, 15 to 25 cm of snow combined with blowing snow is expected.
Across northeastern Ontario snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected. There will also be blowing snow.
For southern Ontario, snowfall amounts will range from 10 to 25 cm. Lesser snowfall amounts are excepted in the Niagara region.
Power outages are expected as wind gusts to 110 km/h are expected this evening near the eastern shores of Lake Erie.
Snow moves into Quebec on Saturday evening and will depart southern Quebec on Sunday morning.
From there the low will make its way to Atlantic Canada.
Power outage safety tips:
Only use generators outdoors and away from windows.
Do not use a gas stove to heat your home.
Disconnect appliances and electronics to avoid damage from electrical surges.
Maintain food supplies that do not require refrigeration.
Check on your neighbours. Older adults and young children are especially vulnerable to extreme temperatures.
