There is an area of low pressure currently centered south of the Bay of Fundy, it will bring heavy rain to Atlantic Canada.
The rain has started in some areas.
New Brunswick
Generally, 15 to 25 mm is expected. In southeastern areas, rainfall amounts could top 50 to 75 millimeters.
Prince Edward Island
50 to 75 millimeters is possible for the entirety of the Island.
Nova Scotia
For southern and western sections, 50 to 75 millimeters is likely over the course of the weekend. Total rainfall amounts may reach or exceed 50 mm elsewhere.
Newfoundland and Labrador
In southeastern Labrador and western Newfoundland, 50 to 75 millimeters is in the forecast. For central Newfoundland (Grand Falls-Windsor and east) 30 to 40 mm is likely. The Avalon can expect to see 15 to 20 millimeters.
For all of the region, some localized flooding is expected, especially in low-lying areas.
