Strong Earthquake Recorded in Afghanistan


An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 has occurred.


It was centred 51.0 km southwest of Jurm, Afghanistan at a depth of 210 kilometres.


The quake happened shortly after 5:00 pm.


The earthquake was felt in Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan.


There were no immediate reports of damage or loss of life.


In some areas, there was shaking for about a minute.
