The world needs to get a grasp on livestock production by 2030.
Worldwide, livestock accounts for between 14.5 percent and 18 percent of human-induced greenhouse gas emissions.
A letter in The Lancet Planetary Health Journal says that poorer counties need to set a time frame for livestock production to stop growing.
Should the livestock sector continue growing at the rate it is now, it would account for almost half of the emissions target by 2030.
