Researchers have found a tree in North Carolina that is over 2,600 years old.

This makes it one of the oldest trees in the world.

It is a bald cypress located in the Three Sisters Swamp area.

Scientists studied the tree's growth rings and used radiocarbon dating to determine the age.

The oldest tree in the world is in California. The ancient tree grows in Methuselah Grove in the White Mountains of Inyo County, California, where it is surrounded by other ancient trees, and its exact location is unknown to the public to keep the tree safe from vandalism.
