Update on Closures and State of Emergency #nlwx


 1st Battalion The Royal Newfoundland Regiment
1st Battalion The Royal Newfoundland Regiment The 2nd Battalion, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment (Operating out of Stephenville, Corner Brook and Grand Falls Windsor) arrive to CFS St John's. With them they bring personnel and equipment, to assist with relief efforts.

There are several school closures and states of emergencies in effect once again today.


Closures

All schools on the Avalon remain closed today. Schools in Bonavista and Terrenceville are also closed all day.


All CNA campuses in St. John’s (PPD - ATC/child care ctre/Topsail Rd., Seal Cove, Ridge Road), as well as campuses in Bonavista, Carbonear and Placentia are closed all day.


Memorial University’s St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses will remain closed today.


States of Emergency

St. John's is still under a state of emergency. Today stores selling basic foods, such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and pharmacies are permitted to open from 10 am to 6 pm. This excludes bars, restaurants, fast-food chains and outlets.


Mount Pearl is still under a state of emergency. The City will be temporarily lifting the State of Emergency from the hours of 6 am and 9 pm, daily. This will continue until further notice.


Paradise will temporarily lift the state of emergency daily between 6 a.m. to midnight until further notice.


Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s has lifted their state of emergency, it is expected to be reinstated at 9:00 pm.


Note St. John's International Airport remains closed to commercial flights until 5:00 am on Wednesday, January 22.
