What Happens to COVID-19 When Flu Season Ends?

As Canada heads into Spring, may people are wondering what will happen when flu season ends with regards to COVID-19.

Influenza viruses circulate year-round, but when flu season peaks varies. It's most commonly at its height in February.

Warmer temperatures and higher humidity can help stop the spread of COVID-19, but it remains to be seen if that will actually happen.

Here are some tips to avoid getting – and spreading – the flu:

  • Wash your hands often

  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze

  • Don't touch your face

  • Stay at home when you're sick

  • Clean (and disinfect) surfaces and shared items
