Wildfires Rage Across SW United States

There are several wildfires burning across the southwestern United States.

Large fires are currently burning in New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma.

The hot weather in the region is not helping with temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius. Winds are also fusting over 60 km/h in some areas. The hot, dry and windy weather is expected to continue all this week.

In the Southwest, elevated to critical fire weather conditions will continue due to prolonged breezy and very dry conditions. Red Flag warnings are in effect for California's Sacramento Valley, across eastern Arizona, eastern Colorado, and into the central High Plains.

The fires in Arizona have so far burned nearly 34,500 hectares.
