Two Dead After Strong Earthquake in Mexico

On Tuesday morning a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck 12 km south-southwest of Santa María Zapotitlán, Mexico.

It was at a depth of 23 kilometres.

At least two people have died.

The earthquake also causes a fire at an oil refinery in Salina Cruz. The blaze was quickly extinguished but one worker was injured.

140 aftershocks were recorded, all of which were small.

A tsunami warning was issued as a result of the earthquake, the alerts have long since ended.
