1 Killed As Tornadoes Rip Across Louisiana and Mississippi

Severe weather is continuing to unfold in the southeastern United States.

The City of Monroe, Louisiana was hit by a tornado on Sunday morning.

So far officials have said that 300 homes are damaged, displacing several residents. Trees were also uprooted. Thousands of people lost power.

One person has been killed in Mississippi.

A strong tornado also moved over Bassfield, Mississippi according to the National Weather Service.

Severe weather is continuing and will tonight. On Monday, severe thunderstorms capable of tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and hail are possible across parts of the Atlantic Coastal Plains into the Middle Atlantic region.
