1 Person Dead in Wildfire in Mono County

One person has died after a wildfire along the California-Nevada border.
The Mountain View Fire in Mono County began on Tuesday when there were high winds in the area. There was a recorded wind gust of 126 km/h.
So far, the fire has burned 83 square kilometres and destroyed over 90 structures.
Evacuation orders were issued in Walker, Coleville and Topaz. A disaster declaration has been issued for the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
