A magnitude 7.4 earthquake impacted Colombia today.

So far, 100 people are confirmed dead, and several others are injured. Several people remain trapped in collapsed buildings. The death and injury toll is expected to change as search-and-rescue operations continue.

The earthquake occurred at 8:34 a.m. local time and was centred 5.1 km east of San José del Palmar, Colombia. It was also felt in Ecuador and Panama.

The earthquake was at a depth of 107 km.

This is the strongest earthquake recorded in Colombia in the last decade.
