12 Missing after ship capsizes off Louisiana Coast

The U.S. Coast Guard says that a dozen people are missing after a boat capsized off the coast of Louisiana on Tuesday night.

A commercial ship capsized. Six people were rescued. Twelve are missing. There was a Special Marine Warning in effect at the time.

A volunteer rescue effort is underway. The search was made more difficult when severe weather rolled through the area on Thursday morning.

The search continues for the missing people. One crew member was found deceased.

The ship capsized 8 miles south of Grand Isle, Louisiana.
