Severe thunderstorms moved through Egypt on Thursday and Friday sparking flooding that killed 21 people.

Six children are among the victims.

As a result, officials closed government offices, airports, schools, and businesses.

60 millimetres of rain fell in Cairo, far above the monthly average of 4 millimetres.
