25 people have died in Kentucky due to flooding

At least 25 people have died in Kentucky due to flooding. There are several others missing.

Governor Andy Beshear said that some counties have already been approved and, "I fully expect more to be added as was the process in responding to December’s tornadoes."

The counties of Breathitt, Clay, Knott, Letcher and Perry have been added.

There is widespread damage to homes and businesses. Cell phone service is out in many impacted areas. There are also several areas without power.

President Joe Biden has added Individual Assistance to the Major Disaster declaration approved to expedite support to those impacted.

Anyone living in Breathitt, Clay, Knott, Letcher, or Perry Counties and has been impacted by flooding can call 1 (800) 621-FEMA (3362) or visit https://disasterassistance.gov.
