3.8 magnitude earthquake off the New England coast

A magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Maine this morning. The earthquake was centred 10 km southeast of York Harbor, Maine and was at a depth of 13.2 km.


Most earthquakes in New England are at a shallow depth but occur infrequently.


There were no immediate reports of damage and none would be expected. There is also no tsunami danger.
