3 Killed as Typhoon Lashes South Korea


Three people have been killed as Typhoon Lingling lashed South Korea on Saturday.


The typhoon also cut power to 57,000 households.


Several trees were uprooted.


After hitting South Korea, the storm headed toward North Korea.


Some parts of eastern China was also hit.


South Korea's government said at least 10 people were being treated for injuries.


Lingling made landfall as a Category 4 on Miyako-jima, then continued to intensify. It gradually weakened as it was east of China. At 2:30 p.m. KST, Lingling made landfall in South Hwanghae Province, North Korea.
