40 People Dead as Flooding Rain Hits Japan



Japan has been hit by severe flooding that has caused landslides and several people are thought to be dead.


Heavy rain has hit the main island of Kyushu. This is the third day of rain.


So far forty people have been confirmed dead. 14 of whom were residents of a nursing home.

Half a million people were told to evacuate.


Rescue crews continue to search for survivors.


This the worst flooding to hit Japan since a typhoon last October.
