5.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Japan

On Monday at about 6:00 a.m. there was a 5.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Japan.


The United States Geological Survey initially said the earthquake was a magnitude 6.0 but later revised the number.


The epicenter was 84.2 km east of Yokohama, Japan at a depth of 52 km. Yokohama has a population of 3.7 million people.
