50 Car Pileup on Iowa Highway

On Monday afternoon there were at least fifty vehicles involved in a pile-up on an Iowa Highway.

The pile-up happened on I-80 near Des Moines, Iowa.

At the time there was snow and blowing snow causing whiteout conditions.

One person was seriously injured.

Police closed the freeway's westbound lanes.

The crash involved several semi-trucks and smaller passenger vehicles.
