80 Percent Chance of Tropical Development in the Eastern Pacific

It is becoming increasingly likely that we will see the first tropical storm of the season in the Eastern Pacific Basin soon.

There is an area of low pressure about 1300 km south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California Sur. The low has showers and thunderstorms asociated wih it.

The National Hurricane Center gives the low and 80 percent chance of forming into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.

While environmental conditions are presently conducive for further development, on Sunday, upper-level winds should become unfavorable for development.
